Credientials ARAD, BFA
This is Anna’s
first year as a faculty member of MDPA. A southern California native,
Anna began her formal ballet training at the Meridith Bayliss Dance
Institute and then continued with Corinne Glover and Carol Guidry
at the Santa Clarita Ballet Academy. After passing all of the majors
examinations, she became an associate of the Royal Academy of Dance,
and then was honored with the RAD’s Solo Seal Award in 2003.
She has performed various principal roles as a professional guest
artist for Santa Clarita Ballet Company including six seasons as
the “Sugar Plum Fairy” in their annual Nutcracker production.
She also enjoyed being on the SCBA faculty for several years. Anna
received training from summer intensives at Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre,
American Ballet Theatre, and Aspen Ballet. She has performed with
Wenta Ballet in Los Angeles, and competed at regional and national
levels in contemporary jazz. Anna graduated from UC Irvine in 2007
with a BFA in Dance Performance and a minor in Educational Studies.
During her time at UCI, she was a member of Donald McKayle’s
Etude Ensemble, and performed works by Douglas Becker, Molly Lynch,
and Carlos Jones. Anna was also awarded with a Claire Trevor School
of the Arts Honors Award for participating in the ArtsBridge program,
bringing dance into the classrooms of local elementary schools.
Upon graduation, Anna had the benefit of dancing in Alonzo King’s
LINES Ballet professional workshop and is excited to carry on with
her growth as an artist. She has enjoyed teaching at MDPA and wants
to continue to share her love of dance with her students.
