Elizabeth
(Libby) Cox started dancing when she was three. At age eight she
decided to branch out and auditioned for her first musical and quickly
fell in love. She continued dancing and acting throughout high school
participating in all the plays, musicals, and dance concerts she
could get her hands on including Grease, The diary of Anne Frank,
and the One Act Festival. She even took a stab at directing and
choreographing. After graduating from James Logan in 2004, she went
on to study Drama at the University of California, Irvine where
she participated in many shows including Anything Goes and Urinetown.
She graduated in 2009 with a major in Theatre Arts and a minor in
Education and Linguistics. After realizing she had NO idea what
she was going to do with her degree, she promptly moved to The Netherlands
where she lived and worked as a nanny for a year and a half traveling
the whole of Western Europe.
Now I'm back and ready to start teaching! Tap is my passion and
I love sharing it with others. I look forward to teaching them new
steps and challenging them to push themselves to be better dancers
and young adults. With the musical theatre background, my goal is
to get kids to "perform" their dances, not dance them.
A smile is more important to me than all five sounds of a cramp
roll turn. I look forward to working with M.D.P.A.!!
