As founder, owner, and artistic director Of MDPA , Donna takes pride in each students development. Her own career began at age 5 under the guidance of her mother Jean Dellaria, a former professional dancer in London, England. Donna is an active member and currently 1st VP of Dance Masters of CA, Chapter 13 and held the title of Miss Dance of CA in 1982. She continues to enhance her own dance education by attending classes and symposia in the bay area as well as in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and New York. Donna trained with Benny Smith, Fran Atlas, Roland Dupree, Hama, Carol Connors, Jackie Sleight, Lawrence Rosenberg, Keith Clifton, Michael Bennett to name a few. She attended Teacher Training School through Dance Masters of America, certification in dance in 1981. Signed with Brebner and Grime' talent/model agency in San Francisco in the 1980's/90's. She has done commercial work, fashion shows, other work included but not limited to: American Bandstand, Mello Yellow, Clint Eastwood's "Dirty Harry". Music video-Greg Kihn, Tina Turner, Eddie Money, A.M. San Francisco, North Beach Leather, KRON channel 4 dance documentary. Judge for I Love Dance national talent competition. Judge for Dance Masters Solo Title Scholarship competition. Donna whose attention to detail with students is total and personal, has been in great demand as a choreographer for competitions at both state and national levels. Under Donna's guidance, many students have further enriched the arts by becoming teachers, studio owners, professional dancers, dance professors. Her students have went on to Princeton, Brown, Columbia, Chapman, UC Irvine, UCLA as well as performing on broadway and national touring companies throughout the world.Over recent years, Donna loves coming to the studio to share her love for dance and performance to collaborate and work closely with the teachers on the students growth and development. She loves to watch as the students thrive and blossom into wonderful dancers.
