Amanda Robles began her training in ballet and tap at age 3 at Sherri’s Born to Dance in San Jose California. At age 8, she moved to Tracy, California and began her competitive dance career at Valley Force, competing in the styles of Jazz and Tap. She continued dancing at Tracy High School as part of their competitive dance team, holding the position of captain her Junior and Senior year. She competed in hip hop, jazz and pom at the Varsity level and was name a Universal Dance Association All-Star her senior year.
After graduating from High School, Amanda attended San Jose State University where she majored in Humanities with an emphasis in American Studies. She continued to train in jazz and modern dance, and studied in children’s dance classes as well as dance education. She began teaching at Mission Dance & Performing Arts in the summer of 2012, while managing the office at Athletic Perfection, a competitive All Star cheer gym. She helped run the toddler and preschool tumbling and activity program during the mornings.
Amanda is now the full time studio manager at Mission Dance, but continues her love of teaching on the weekends. She currently teaches Kinderdance and Tap & Jazz combination classes on Saturdays at Mission Dance, and her classes are very popular. She is also active in the competition program, assisting both competition students and staff. She feels very lucky to be able to share her passion for dance as a career, and has loved working at Mission Dance throughout the years.
